Welcome to my new travel blog, Aloha & Arrivederci. I am a 30-something year old woman living on O’ahu and constantly thinking about my next adventure. I moved here with my husband about 4 1/2 years ago with plans to open a business, start a new journey, and have a little fun.
Quitting my job, selling our house (and most of our belongings) to move to Hawaii in the pursuit of happiness has taught me many things. The first thing on that list? Life is SHORT. Take the plunge, make the move, apply for the job you think you’ll love, take the afternoon off to hike that mountain, spend the money on seeing a new city or a new country and make the most of this ONE life you have. I believe that money spent on travel is never money wasted, no matter where you go or what you see. Opening your eyes to the world around you teaches you that you aren’t the center of the universe and you’ll never know what you’re missing until you take the first step.
Since moving to O’ahu, we’ve traveled among the islands, enjoyed the lifestyle that comes along with being in such a beautiful setting and have taken a few exciting trips back across the ocean. With each flight and each new plan, I get more excited about the future.
I plan to use this blog as a travel journal of where I’ve been and where I’m going next. I love photography although the better the iPhone gets, the less often I take my real camera places with me. My hope is that this blog re-inspires my love of photography, helps me to re-live my favorite moments from my past travels, and reminds me to always keep planning the next adventure. In the meantime, if you stop here and find some inspiration or if my trials and tribulations along the way can help you plan your next trip, that’s great – I’m happy to help! Now go get out and see the world!
